Tackle & Tide answers two questions: where should I fish in Maine, and what should I bring?
It is run by Bold Coast Marketing Group, a small Maine digital shop that builds guides to the outdoors we live in. We are the same crew behind Maine Society, an outdoor guide to the state's trails, campgrounds, and lakes.
What makes this site different
Most fishing articles on the internet paraphrase each other. We build from the source data instead: Maine IF&W lake surveys and stocking records, Maine DMR saltwater rules, and the state's own access inventories. Every page that states a fee, a rule, or a stocking fact carries its source and the date a person last checked it.
When we do not know something, the page says so. When rules change, the date tells you how fresh our copy is, and the official link takes you to the current word.
The money part
Gear links are affiliate links, which is how a free site pays its bills. The disclosure spells it out and how we choose gear explains the method. The short version: nobody buys a recommendation.
