Short version: no accounts, no selling data, minimal collection.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization to see which pages help people (page views, approximate region, device type, and clicks on outbound gear links). We do not use it to identify you.
- Location, only if you ask. The fishing map's "near me" button uses your browser's location one time to sort results. It never leaves your device and we do not store it.
- Email, only if you write us. We keep correspondence to answer it.
Third parties
If you click a gear link, you land on a retailer's site (usually Amazon) and their privacy policy takes over. Affiliate programs set cookies on the retailer's side so the retailer knows the visit came from us; that is how commissions work.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. Google Analytics sets its standard measurement cookies; common browser tools and extensions can block them without breaking the site.
